She has always shown an integral interest in health and the human body. After graduating in Medicine she decided to specialize in Internal Medicine at the University Hospital La Princesa. She developed a special interest for infectious diseases, especially HIV infection, hepatitis and tropical diseases
She holds a PhD in Medicine (Complutense University). She is member of the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology, GESIDA and the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine. She received the Young Researcher Award granted for attendance at the CROI 2008 (15th Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections), and was elected “Best Physician of the Year 2010” at Infanta Leonor Hospital.
Nowadays she’s interested in Psychoneuroimmunology and its clinical applications and the fascinating world of human microbiome and the gut-brain axis.
